Salon Policies

Dear Guests,

Please take a few minutes to familiarise yourselves with our salon policies which are designed to keep you safe and ensure the smooth running of Spirit Hair Company in High Wycombe.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the salon on 01494 440132 where we will be happy to help.

Skin Testing Policy

Due to Covid, there has been an increase in people having allergic reactions which means we have had to change our skin testing procedures.   Following our manufacturer’s instructions and as a duty of care to our clients, ALL our colour clients except for those using Elumen colour, must be skin tested prior to each and every colour service. We are well practised at doing this and there are 2 options that we can offer you.

OPTION 1: The ColourStart Patch and Passport (£15.00 per test).

OPTION 2: AAT (Allergy Alert Test) - In Salon (FREE). 

NEW CLIENTS will need to book a FREE full colour consultation which will include hair and scalp assessment, screening, and an allergy alert test prior  to booking a colour service. We will also require a 50% deposit at the time of  booking your colour service.


Please note that if a skin test has not been done, your service will be cancelled and you will incur the FULL cost of the service booked. If you need any further information then please call us or book in for a FREE consultation. Please contact the salon should you need further assistance.



Our prices are gender-neutral.  They include 20% VAT, and refreshments.

Pre-Booking Deposit Policy

When pre-booking your appointment, this time has been reserved especially for you. If you do not attend your appointment or cancel with short notice (under 48 hours) we are very often unable to fill your appointment slot with another client.

Our Pre-Booking Deposit policy ensures that we are able to run our appointments smoothly and therefore, should you not show up for your appointment or give short notice then your pre-booking deposit will be non-refundable.

We will require a 50% Pre-Booking Deposit for all appointments that carry a service of 4 hours and over, online bookings and for new clients to the salon.

Cancellation & No Show Policy

If you do not show up for your appointment or give short notice then your pre-booking deposit will be non-refundable. We require a 50% Pre-Booking Deposit for all appointments that will take 4+ hours or longer, online bookings and for new clients to the salon.

Children Under 16 Policy

Children salon services are only available Tuesday to Friday 9am to 6pm and are not available in the evenings. Adult prices with a 20% discount will be charged on Saturdays. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Green Contribution Charge Per Visit

We are on our journey to become a sustainable salon taking responsibility to be part of the solution and not part of the problem with looking after our planet. We have joined up with The Green Salon Collective Group who collect our waste and recycle it on our behalf. We are asking our clients to help us with this system by contributing £1.50. This will automatically be added to your bill. You may request us to remove this however we would be delighted to share with you all the fantastic projects that our waste goes towards before you do and hope that you’ll change your mind.

Covid Policy

Please come alone to your appointment unless you are accompanying a child who has an appointment. Our Reception waiting facility is for clients only.

Clients are no longer required to wear a face mask but please feel free to wear a mask if it makes you feel more comfortable. If you require your stylist to wear a face mask, then please let us know and they will be happy to oblige.

Before entering the salon, you will be asked to confirm that you are fit and well. If you come to the salon unwell then we reserve the right to refuse your service and rearrange it for another time. 

You will be invited into the salon to our washroom area where you will be asked to wash, dry, and sanitise your hands.  

Your styling and seating position will have been deep cleaned and sanitised and your fresh and laundered gown, placed on your chair. We will maintain the section dividers. Your stylist’s equipment has been thoroughly sterilised and there will be a plastic box that is big enough for you to place your belongings with a cover to protect. 

We have free Wi-Fi and a full range of beverages but we are still not offering reading material at the moment, so you are welcome to bring your own. USB chargers are available upon request. 

We are still operating a cashless system.
