The Goldwell Shades We’re Loving at Spirit Hair Company in High Wycombe

Quick Takeaways

Autumn 2026 is all about rich, dimensional and beautifully wearable colour.

We’re loving Bellini, sophisticated coppers, auburns, glossy brunettes and lived-in colour.

Goldwell’s new Velvet Gradients bring a softer, modern approach to creative colour.

Ready for an Autumn Colour Change?

There’s something about autumn that makes us want to change our hair.

Maybe it’s the knitwear. Maybe it’s the darker evenings. Or perhaps after months of brighter summer colour, we’re simply ready for something a little richer, glossier and more luxurious.

At Spirit Hair Company in High Wycombe, autumn is one of our favourite seasons for colour because there are so many directions we can take it.

And after our recent Goldwell education and Celebration of Colour, our team has plenty of fresh inspiration to bring back behind the chair.

So, what are we loving for autumn 2026?

Bellini – Goldwell’s Colour of the Year 2026

We have to start here.

Bellini is Goldwell’s official Colour of the Year for 2026, created through its Color CoLAB with professional colourists Salome De Wet, Zachary Norman, Peter Wu and Neil Barton. Goldwell describes it as bold, optimistic, bright, luminous and head-turning.

And it’s gorgeous.

Bellini brings together peach with a strong pink undertone, creating something soft and romantic but with enough edge to make it interesting.

For autumn, we particularly love the idea of taking inspiration from Bellini rather than assuming you have to recreate the full catwalk look.

A subtle peachy-pink?

A flash of warmth?

A softer pastel through blonde?

Or something much more creative?

That’s where your consultation comes in.

Colour trends should inspire your hair, not dictate it.

Velvet Gradients – Soft Colour With an Edge

Another big Goldwell colour story we're excited about is Velvet Gradients.

Goldwell describes the trend as being where softness meets strength, combining smooth tonal gradients with a contemporary take on vintage romance.

The looks use Goldwell professional colour, including Colorance and LightDimensions, to create beautifully blended transitions rather than harsh blocks of colour.

Think colour that almost seems to melt from one tone into another.

Goldwell's Velvet Melt, for example, combines Pink Ash and Dahlia in a rich gradient before introducing Bellini as an unexpected pop of brightness.

It's creative, but it's also surprisingly wearable.

And that's something we love at Spirit.

The Return of the Really Good Brunette

Brunettes, this is your season.

Chocolate.

Chestnut.

Espresso.

Warm mocha.

Caramel.

Deep, glossy brown.

Autumn 2026 is seeing a return to deep brunette shades with richness, shine and dimension, rather than flat, one-dimensional brown.

And Goldwell gives our colour team plenty of options for creating them.

Topchic has been part of Goldwell's professional colour portfolio for more than 50 years, while Topchic Zero offers an ammonia-free alternative with up to 100% grey coverage and natural-looking, multi-dimensional results.

So don't come in asking us simply to make your hair brown.

Let's find your brunette.

Subtle Copper – Autumn Warmth Without Going Full Copper

Not ready for a dramatic copper transformation?

Subtle Copper could be your autumn sweet spot.

This look brings warmth into the hair in a softer, more understated way. Think delicate copper tones, beautiful dimension and an expensive-looking finish rather than one bold block of orange or red.

The secret behind Goldwell's Subtle Copper look is LightDimensions, which Goldwell uses to create professional lightening results while supporting healthy-looking hair.

So, if you've been saving copper inspiration but aren't quite ready to go all-in, talk to our colour team. We can look at your existing colour, complexion and hair condition and create a version of the trend that works beautifully for you.

Autumn colour doesn't have to shout. Sometimes a little warmth is all you need.

Honey Gold Blonde – Meet Elumen

Blondes are getting warmer this autumn too and we are here for it.

Honey Gold Blonde brings together beautiful golden warmth and shine for a blonde that feels softer and richer as we move away from summer.

The gorgeous Goldwell inspiration pictured here features the new Elumen GG@8 Honey Gold Blonde shade.

It's a great reminder that autumn doesn't automatically mean taking blonde hair darker. Instead, we can explore honey, gold, caramel and warmer blonde tones to completely change the mood of your colour.

For guests who've spent summer wearing brighter or cooler blondes, introducing golden warmth can be a lovely way to transition into the new season without saying goodbye to blonde.

Lived-In Colour Isn't Going Anywhere

Not everybody wants to be back in the salon every few weeks.

That's why lived-in colour remains such an important trend.

Rather than obvious regrowth and high-maintenance colour, we're seeing softer transitions, dimensional brunettes, personalised blondes and colour placements designed to work with the natural hair.

It's particularly useful when we're discussing grey blending too.

Instead of automatically covering every grey hair, some guests want us to work with their changing hair.

Others still want complete coverage.

There's no right answer.

It's about creating something that fits you.

Gloss Is the Finishing Touch

This might be one of our favourite autumn trends because it works across so many colours.

Goldwell Colorance is an ammonia-free demi-permanent colour range designed to add rich tones and shine while supporting the condition and feel of colour-treated hair.

That makes glossing a great conversation to have when your colour doesn't necessarily need a dramatic transformation, but it does need a refresh.

Your brunette might need richness.

Your blonde might need its tone refreshed.

Your copper might need bringing back to life.

Sometimes it's not about changing your colour.

It's about making your existing colour look expensive again.

Your Autumn Colour Should Be Yours

This is probably the most important trend of all.

Personalisation.

At Spirit Hair Company, we're not interested in taking a trend from Instagram and putting exactly the same colour on every guest.

Your skin tone matters.

Your natural colour matters.

Your hair history matters.

Your lifestyle matters.

And the condition of your hair definitely matters.

That's why every great colour starts with a conversation.

Show us your Pinterest board. Bring your screenshots. Tell us which colours you're drawn to and which ones you absolutely hate.

Then let our colour team work out how to translate that inspiration into something that works for you.

Why Our Goldwell Education Matters

There's another reason we're particularly excited about colour this autumn.

Our team recently attended the Goldwell Celebration of Colour, continuing the professional education that's such an important part of life at Spirit Hair Company.

Goldwell itself puts education at the heart of its professional colour community, with ongoing seminars and education designed to help colourists continue developing their craft.

For us, education isn't simply about attending an event.

It's about what happens afterwards.

We come back inspired.

We talk about what we've learned.

We experiment with new ideas and refine techniques.

And, ultimately, we bring that knowledge back to you in the chair.

Ready for Your Autumn Hair Era?

Perhaps you're feeling Bellini.

Maybe it's finally time for copper.

Perhaps you want to turn your summer blonde into something softer and richer.

Or maybe all you know is:

“I need a change.”

That's enough for us.

Come and talk to our experienced colour team at Spirit Hair Company in High Wycombe and we'll create an autumn colour that's inspired by the trends but completely personalised to you.
